ethereal is on a distinguished road

Just wanted to say that where you are now, is where you will be if you commit suicide. Nothing really changes, you just find yourself on the other side, probably feeling depressed and suicidal still. I can't confirm this with personal experience but it just makes sense, doesn't it? Your energy field and your chakras stay where they are, just outside of a physical body. All the really low, dark energies of depression and wanting to end life will still be there, until you consciously make a decision to challenge all that negativity and clear it from your system. That's really all it takes: to say no to what you're experiencing, and to consciously choose to change it. Death is just a cop-out, and a lousy one at that -- nothing really changes.

All you need to do, is to treat this as a problem, and seek to find working answers for yourself.

Some things you can try:
-- antidepressants
-- satsang ("holy company") with spiritual people, friends, pastors, etc.
-- going to church, even if you aren't religious
-- finding things you enjoy doing, and do them more often!
-- praying to God to give you strength to surrender the depression/suicidal tendencies
-- praying/asking to be shown the lesson for this depression
-- consciously experiencing the low energies, and instead of trying to run away from them, consciously confront them and you'll notice that it'll slowly disappear bit by bit.
-- meditation...as Josey said, peace of nothingness is found in life, and easily through meditation.
-- shifting your attention to being the victim/experiencer of the depression, to being the witness/container of the depression. Objectively watch yourself suffer...and then you realize you are not the one who is suffering. Once you can feel yourself as the container, as the awareness that is bigger than the depression, it doesn't feel bad anymore. This is an easy way to transcend anything you don't want to feel
