Please help with lost item; I'm at my wit's end....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Everyone,
I'm Anne, I'm 51, married with one child still at home (out of 4) and have 9 spoiled cats. I am an only child and recently lost both my elderly parents, whom I was the caregiver for. I have to admit that my being here is a selfish one; I have lost an item that was very important to 3 very dear women in my life (all crossed over) as well as to me, and another that was important to me alone. I hope and pray that someone can help me. I will post more in a more appropriate thread.
Thank you all for having me here,
Blessings,
Anne
I wanted to add my introduction as I am new here ~ PLEASE, please, if anyone can help me, I would be forever grateful ~ beyond words...
As I was saying, I have been caring full-time for my parents (who divorced when I was 9 and lived in different towns in the area ~ so most days I have been going in two different directions....I think "meeting myself coming and going" most of the time pretty much sums it up...I am not complaining, though, as I felt honored to be able to be with them and care for them for even a fraction of the time they spent raising me. One side effect of my being gone so much for the last couple of years, though, is my household became pretty chaotic....we moved once during my parents' illnesses, and are getting ready to move again, as space is really at a premium ~ add to that my general messiness, a teenager and nine cats, and, I WAS (though I haven't had the energy or heart to get back into it, a freelance artist, so there's art stuff everywhere ) so you pretty much get the idea of the condition of my house...
Here is my dilemma and I have not been able to sleep, or to stop berating myself over it....I am just devastated. Yesterday was one of my daughters' 30th birthday and I went into my small walk-in closet to get a ring I wanted to wear (it is actually too small (if my finger slowly turns purple it IS too small, right? ), but I was going to wear it, at least on my pinky, just while we went out to lunch. This ring has quite a history; it originally belonged to my aunt (Edythe; hence my username) who was murdered in Washington, DC, in 1937; it then came to my beloved Grandmother, then my Mom, then just recently when Mom passed, me. I had never worn it because of the size, but had recently (in the last 6 months)had a prong repaired, so I thought it was still in the jeweler's clear plastic bag along with MY original plain gold wedding band that is now too big (I had stopped wearing it recently ~ as in the last couple of months ~ and added it to the bag)~ I thought that I had just put the whole thing in a small "armoire"-type jewelry box on a shelf inside the closet. I have been so mentally "off", though, with my parents' passing, I have done things and put things places that I don't even remember, which really makes me feel I am going crazy. I have absolutely torn the house up (even more than it normally is! ) looking for the rings, to no avail....I feel like such a failure that I couldn't even keep up with a ring (and my wedding ring, too) that was so loved by these beautiful women in my life. If anyone, anyone...can help, I would be forever in your debt....
Thank you and Bless you all,
Anne

Lost item; Ring Description...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I should probably give the description of my lost ring, if it would help some kind soul visualize it.....
It is 3 approx. 1/3 carat diamonds set horizontally in a 1930's style filigree platinum setting.
If anyone can help me, I would be so, so very grateful.
Blessings,
Anne
