Soo.. I need some insight.. Color me confused..
Not sure if this'll get play, but it might cause a bit of discussion.
I am in an interesting scenario, having been downsized we ended up
selling our house. We've got money in savings for retirement (not as
much as we 'used' to, but who does, we've still got 25+ years till
that day is supposed to arrive..), we've saved for our kids college
(as much as they'll get from us that is, which is more than I ever
received (which was nothing from my parents)), plus we've managed to
control our spending during this time of unemployment..
All that said, we did pull out a some money on our house sale (one of
the lucky ones I guess) and therein is our predicament..
Haven't had allot of luck getting reemployed yet (the job I lost was
100k'sh) and not quite sure when something will come along again,
though I do keep plugging along (just had interviews the other day,
well see where that leads), so we've got some money, of which I could
risk, say $40-50k into starting a new business, but I just can't (for
the life of me) think what that should be..
Another thing into the mix, I may end up getting a job offer next week (who knows for sure), and it'd pay close to what I made before, but going back into what I did before just makes me depressed and sad.
I believe I will be disappointed in going back to work for someone else, not having made the leap to strike out on my own, but how can I strike out on my own if I have no idea where in the heck I am supposed to travel
