Can guide "mislead" you in order to help you?
Well, not really "mislead" you, but say that you are ready to do something because they feel that when you feel ready for something and start working for it, then you'll end up much better off then if you didn't feel ready - regardless of whether you actually do that?
I know that sometimes the guide communicate that a person should take an action, knowing the action would fail, that way the person can then move on. But here, I mean the guide communicates that a person should try the action, and by simply trying the action, the person grows in the intended fashion without actually succeeding in the action.
For a concrete example of what I mean - can the spirit guides communicate to someone that they are ready for a career now, that they should focus on that instead of continuing school, is it possible they meant that because it would help the person go through a number of personal growth exercises that they wouldn't otherwise have gone if they were in mind to continue school? That is, the guides didn't believe the person would start a career now, but just felt that if the person believed they were to start a career it would help them grow in the manner they need to grow?
