It’s unfortunate that I have to get my nuts from 5500 miles away instead of 55 miles away, but I’d rather use the best ingredients available.
Are most raw foodists more concerned with personal health rather than the environment? That's why I feel more comfortable with the vegan community than raw--the former is more concerned with the big picture IMO. They may eat junky (or not), but I don't understand the intense focus on health. Especially when pasteurized almonds are not exactly bad for you! They don't have acrylmides or rancid fats like roasted almonds.
