Good thread. Hmm, I´d say:

Gattaca
The Iron Giant
The Brotherhood of War (awesome south-korean war-film)
The Shawshank Redemption
Planes, Traines and Automobiles (John Candy at the trainstation at the end really got to me).
And probably a whole bunch more I can´t remember right now.

Also, some episodes of the Simpsons (among them the one where Homer saves Ned´s leftorium. Weird, huh?) and a couple of the earlier episodes of Without a Trace.
