Wow! What a great speech! Thanks for sharing that. It immediately brought to mind a very important idea in my life and that is the idea that “today is the last day of the rest of my life”.
So often people proclaim that ‘today is the first day of your life’, but if it is you fail to live it fully and you so often fail to grasp the magnificence of now and what you can do in a second. If today is the first day of the rest of your life then you spend it planning on what you will still do…as opposed to doing it. And it’s all about doing it and living life fully in every moment. It kind of brings things back into perspective when you face the fact that we will all face a last day at some point – we just don’t know when it will be. Like Steve Jobs said in the speech: ‘Death is very likely the single best invention of Life”
