Default Upcoming 3-Day Las Vegas Workshop

Just a heads up that Erin and I are planning to put on a 3-day personal development workshop here in Las Vegas. We've been wanting to do this for a while and finally decided it's time to make it so.

I'll announce the workshop on my blog once the details are firmed up. We're still waiting on the contract to book the place, so until that's signed, this info is tentative.

The dates will most likely be Oct 2-4 (Fri-Sun). We're aiming to go from 9a to 5p each day, so you'll have the evenings free to go out and have fun, and you won't have to get up at dawn.

The content of the workshop will be loosely based on the material from my book. The purpose of the workshop is to help stimulate your growth. I want to include a nice blend of presented material plus interactive exercises, so you won't have to endure 3 days of lecture. I want the exercises to be practical and purposeful, so it won't be a bunch of rah-rah chest-pounding either. At this point I only have a loose outline for the content and a few exercises planned.

Erin will be there to help facilitate, but most likely she won't be presenting any material herself. She might share a story or two if I can convince her to do that.

We haven't decided how much it will cost to attend, but I'm guessing around $500 per person. Don't hold me to that though.

If all goes well, the workshop will be held in a meeting room at Harrah's, which is in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip across from Caesar's Palace and The Mirage. Average price for a hotel room there should be about $100 per night. There are rooms for $59 a night at the Imperial Palace next door if people want to save money on the hotel... and plenty of pricier hotels within walking distance if people want to spend more. I believe Harrah's is a 3-1/2 star hotel.

If this first workshop goes well, I'd like to take it to other cities too, but that won't happen till 2010 at the earliest. We'll probably start with the Western USA and branch out from there.

Since this is the first time we're doing a public seminar, we have no way of predicting how many people will attend, so we're going to keep it fairly small to keep our risks reasonable and not bite off more than we can chew. We're aiming for 50 to 150 attendees.

Our blogs attract readers from all over the world, so until we start selling tickets, we have no real way of knowing how many people will want to come to Vegas to attend. If we happen to sell out early, we might add more dates and repeat the workshop.

I'm really looking forward to this. I think it will be a lot of fun and a wonderful growth experience for anyone who chooses to attend.

If you have any particular questions, comments, or concerns up front, please let me know, so I can address them when we make this official. If you're interested in attending, it would also help me to know what's most important to you about this and what your expectations are.
