Your views didn't seem that extreme to me.
But to be honest, two years ago I was afraid to buy a buddha statue for my patio because of what people might think. I literally hemmed and hawed for months. (Then it went on sale...so I was glad I waited.
) I do live in the bible belt but even looking back on the experience, I cannot believe that I was afraid to buy it. I feel like I must have been possessed by someone else at the time. It's so not
me.
So I guess I can relate to that concept.
