I think your view of karmic debt may be skewed by assuming that the current being you are, is to absorb it all. In this incarnation.
Since our souls are inifinite, karma must be as well. Meaning that even if you have an imbalance of karma, good or bad, you have an infinite lifetime to balance and re-balance the equation.
LOA teaches us that to manifest the best in our lives, we must assume a mindset of happiness, joy, giving, gratitude, forgiveness and all of those acoutrement contribute to karma that would be generally known as good. So learning about LOA is beneficial to your infinite karmic debt balance. In this respect, LOA and karma are two employees in the same office. Working together.
I tend to view karma as a giant see-saw in a kid's playground. You start out in the middle and your actions determine whether you are on the upside or the downside at any given time in your soul's life. So karma isn't the cause, just the scale. A measuring stick, so to speak.
LOA is an energy force that simply responds, in kind, to the vibration we put out. Like a mirror to show us, concretely, what we have been dwelling on with the purpose, presumably, of helping us see where we need correction. If we are smart enough to believe in it's existance. Just another tool.
In these ways, they are both very similar and may very well be connected. Or even the same thing.
