Even if it came off a little harsh, I think it's legit to call out all of the armchair experts in forums. I've sometimes wanted to make the request "Please keep your speculation to yourself if you have no actual experience doing [fill-in-the-blank]." I've especially gotten a lot of advice re: how to make money, how to best publish yourself, etc., from people who have nothing to show for their own efforts.
