There is little difference between a departed soul’s status after he leaves the body and that of his status before he left the body. Now that this person is departed you are deprived of the physical way of reaching him but the psychic method is still intact as before. That has not changed. What has changed is your orientation for communicating with the person. The shock of death is that we are no longer able to relate by the reliable physical means, but if we condition ourselves to the psychic side, we would be able to continue communications and relations with others who can only use the psychic side.
Do phones ring in the psychic world? They do but only in dimension which directly adjacent to this world. In such dimensions a departed person creates an environment which suits his or her needs which are based on their last material circumstance (circumstance of their most recently life in a material body).
Usually a person creates a house, just like the one he or she lived in just before passing from the body, and usually the person’s sickness which was endured at death of the last body, persists for a time in the astral world as well.
