I wish everyone would quit using that sentence "I want to lose weight". How about instead you say I want to normolize my body comp. The poster who talked about ketosis is right, but what wasn't stated is the fact that you should not lower the fats, you should increase them. Infact you should eat low amounts of carbs, perferebly under 100 grams daily, and increase fat intake to roughly 50-70% of daily calories this will not only switch your body to using fat as your fuel source, it will also halt disease. Most disease we see in western society is from carb overload, and toxc chemicals. Too many carbs are very bad, we need just enough to fill our glycogen stores, which aren't many, and infact don't really even need to do that, because fat can be converted in the body. Carbs are the only macronutrient not actually needed. We need fat, we need amino acids, but we can live a healthy life with no carbs at all, although I perfer limited amounts through lots of veggies. The first dietary step towards a healthy body comp is to knock out all chemicals such as trans fat, HFCS, perservatives, hormones, etc. Second step is to get rid of grains, which are not human food. Third increase fat intake through healthy oils, meat, fish, nuts, and decrease carbs period. This will rev your metabolism, and your health will increase 10 fold. Insulin is the cause of all obesity. It's also the cause of heart disease, cancer, and diebetes. Keep your blood sugar low, and your body normilizes, and you reach homostasis once again. Do what your ancestors would do. They would hunt, and gather which means they recieved lots of exercise. Fruit would be limited to when in season, and high sugar fruits like bananas didn't exist yet, most fruit today was man made for sweetness, so be careful when choosing fruit, a wise choice is berries. Eat veggies by the boatload, epecially greens. Increase fish consumption, and don't forget the benefits of grass fed beef, high omega 3's, cla, full of vitamins, etc.
