Depends on how many books Joe buys.
I figured out it would take 30 book purchases to recoup Kindle's purchase price, but it actually worked out better than that, because everything in the public domain can be downloaded for free. Jane Austen, F. Scott Fitgerald, a lot of authors I like to have handy in my "bookcase."
And don't forget, that includes all those last-minute airport purchases when Joe goes on vacation or on a business trip and needs something to read, and the hot new bestselling hardbacks that he can't wait for the paperback to come out -- the savings are even higher.
So even if he only reads two books a month, it can pay for itself in less than a year. Plus he saves all that
space -- I think that is a concern for a lot of people -- especially when you move house!
There's a lot to be said for going on vacation and taking a virtually unlimited number of books with you, all tucked into your carry-on!
