The difference I would see between those things is: you are programming yourself to take on beliefs about who you are being and what you are doing, like courage or commitment, or you are desiring to attract external things 'n stuff, like your ideal home or a million bucks. Maybe it would make more sense for me to say "internal vs. external." If you are visualizing the beings and doings (the internal), you would actually be in the picture looking through your own eyes, which is a little trickier to do in a visualization board than for havings (the external), which are easier to find or take photos of.
Just generally speaking, of course.
