If I was you I'd go and meet him. Not because you're interested, but for the fun of it. Maybe you can try to understand him better. It could be a growth experience.
Also, if you're worried about getting his hopes up, you could remove his interest in you. I'll leave it to your own creativity on the *how*.
A personal favourite of mine is to repeatedly sniff my arm-pits. End of stalking.
