Typical "bodybuilding" cares much more about how you look than what you can actually do. The next time you're in the local gym see how many people are doing free weight squats or even deadlifts or pullups (all very useful and functional exercises) versus functionally suspect exercises like concentration curls or triceps kickbacks....
