I guess you can certainly view it that way.
Shakespeare might even have agreed with you - "All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players..."
If you see life as a game there are certainly more metaphors that you can apply to it, and better yet, not take it more seriously than you have to.
e.g. It's not whether you win or lose, but how you play the game that counts.
