I just feel bad whenever people equate social acceptance to weight loss. Magazines and media brainwash people that only those physically toned people are socially acceptable.
Regardless, people should be confident whatever they look like.
The major positives of losing weight is on its functional and economical perspective. You spend less maintaining your body when you are fit rather than being overweight wherein you eat a lot and then spend a lot trying to be fit. It's a cruel cycle. Not to mention the cost of medicine when your health drops at a later age due to excessive eating...
