This is actually the way I took the original post. The OP made a reply after that saying she thought it meant something different. But that quote itself could be taken to mean just what you're saying here.

When I read the mention of "sacred duty", I thought of it as a "sacred contract" that the person had made before they incarnated. They had chosen a life of resources and comfort because they wanted to spend a lifetime giving as much as possible to the world. It was just what they chose to do, that's why they picked the life theme they did. I don't know if that is kind of what your thinking of here. ie, they wanted to be able to give, so they got a huge abundance of physical resources and internal resources to enable them to give a huge amount.
