One valid reason to suppress it is when physical attractiveness is
not what you're looking for in a mate. It happens. Say, for instance, you're looking for a mate solely to appease your parents. In which case, physical attractiveness isn't what ultimately determines your choice, but acceptability to your parents. It's a valid reason.
