When my grandparents got together, my Grandfather was 15 years her senior. When they met, she was a young schoolteacher in a small Georgia town, and he was a surveyor working for the government. They stayed together, and my Grandmother cared for him in his dotage untill he passed away. He had a generous pension which was able to support my Grandmother financially for the next 25 years, although she was quite lonely.
I guess what I am trying to say is that when you are young, a large age difference may not seem like much, but as you get older, it will.
