Hi Pyrogen -- I was a practicing Nichiren (Sokka Gokkai) Buddhist for many, many years, but have gone my own way with all this deliberate creation stuff. I hung onto the nam-myoho-renge-kyo chant, though, for a lot of reasons. For one, it helps me meditate, relaxes me, allows me to let go of ego-based control and just be. It also makes me feel like I'm sending out positive, light energy to the entire world.
I now use it as part of a series of chants that put me in the place of receiving what I want. It also gets my day off to a really terrific start!

I chant (108 times each -- I use an anglican rosary to keep count), starting with "Thank You," moving onto "Shreem" (for overall abundance and prosperity), "Kleem" (for the specific "stuff" I want), "Ay-ing" (for personal relationships), and finish up with Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo. During each chant, I am visualizing what I'm grateful for, money and opportunities coming to me from everywhere, loving interactions with friends and colleagues, and a beam of sparkling energy flowing out of me and covering the entire planet.
It takes about 10 minutes, and when I'm finished, I'm feeling really good: incredibly energized and connected to Universal/Divine Power. When I'm in that flow, the things I'm intending happen with ease and synchronicity.
That's what works for me. But then I tend to pick and choose from the various deliberate creation/spiritual/IM philosophies what feels good and ignore what doesn't.
Blessings,
Toni
