To me, the Sedona Method seems to have a lot better long term effect, as it is applied every time an unwanted emotion appears.

I absolutely agree. It was the first book/experience I had with the idea of letting go, and it stayed with me. It helped me to understand Eckhart Tolle and his concept of the ego as a destructive force in someone's life.
It also is notable to say that pride, although it can feel good at the time, is also an emotion to let go of according to Sedona.... I don't think anyone would use EFT after winning a race....
