Hi I'm up for meeting up. Would prefer Sunday 11th but could do Saturday 10th if needed too although it is my birthday weekend so you'll all have to buy me presents!!!
I used to go to a writing group that met in cafes in London on a Friday evening.
I'm not sure if you meant the Tate cafe or the Tate Modern. We used to meet in the cafe of the Tate Modern and although it is really nice it is very noisy. All those espresso machines, plus a lot of echo make it really difficult to hear other people! We didn't use the Tate cafe so can't comment on that so may have the wrong end of the stick here!
The best place we met was the Royal Festival Hall cafe in the main foyer. It was large so we all sit down and not as noisy so we could all hear and it had a nice atmosphere. However, I haven't been there for a bit and am not sure if the refurbishment has been completed yet. Does anyone know?
Other than that the cafe at the British Museum was nice but echo-y which made it hard to hear and would probably be very busy on a Sat or Sunday too. Can't remember what the cafe is like at the portrait gallery.
Not sure if this post has been any help or not!
