Yeah it wasn't perfect. Some of the plot devices seemed forced. But they did better at tying up all the loose ends than I personally expected. Maybe that's because I listened to podcasts and interviews over the past couple years and learned about the writer's creative process. I learned early on there was no "end game" in mind and many times the writers would come up with a plot twist and figure out how to reconcile the contradictions later. I believe the Starbuck reappearance was one of these.
Going into the last 10 episodes, I thought "there is no frakking way they are going to make sense out of this show." I was pleasantly surprised though.
BSG fans still have some things to look forward to. There's a TV movie coming out this fall called The Plan that will go into the backstory of the Cylons. Also, the pilot for the new series Caprica is coming out on DVD
