"Miscellaneous Writings" by H. P. Lovecraft. Among other things, it led to me becoming seriously interested in the topic of astrology.
I read it way back in 2000. I scoffed at astrology back in those days, but, I felt such a strong sense of affinity/similarity with that guy and his opinions, that after I stumbled across some of his writings criticizing astrology, I soon got the idea that I ought to compare my astrological chart to his.
I figured if there was any validity in astrology, then our astrological charts ought to mirror my strong feeling of affinity/similarity.
So, I looked, and found out, to my surprise, that there were some similarities. (I listed them in my comment
here - comment 32 - since someone there asked me why I was interested in astrology).
I'm sure my life would have gone very differently (and actually probably not better) if I had never heard of H. P. Lovecraft and never gotten into astrology.
I probably would have remained a much more close-minded person.
