Why would it be ok for your partner to keep getting animals without your consent? Would she go out and start adopting kids and surprising you with it? Come on! You know there's something going on here. You're just too afraid to confront it.
p/s You should have set these boundaries before you moved in together. But its never too late. Why would you want to live a resentful life? Its neither fair to you nor to her. I'm sure there's another sucker out there who was born just to put up with this kind of behavior.
