I was born in '84, in a rural part of North Carolina 30 minutes outside Charlotte. Though I have had black friends and such (not as best friends though), I don't question the reality of racial profiling. I know that I have things much easier as a result simply of being white.

I also acknowledge a divide, although I see it as more cultural than racial, with it being easiest and most interesting for me to relate to happy, fulfilled, upper middle class people (usually but not always white) versus people who've led a difficult life and are apt to continue having difficulty. (depressed upper middle class people don't fit in my life well either)

ps: I just added Crash to the top of my netflix queue to see what I learn from it.
