I can't eat wheat products (soy sauce is FULL of wheat!), so I have a few alternatives. When I really want the taste of soy sauce, I use a wheat-free low-sodium tamari (it's a type of soy sauce that is processed differently). They sell it in a lot of places now. There is also a blend of toasted sesame seeds and chopped up nori (seaweed) that has that same sort of "meaty" rich flavor that works well with rice and veggies and a naturally salty flavor from the nori. You can get that at health food stores or Asian markets.
