Things follow us, our expectations follow us and we find ourselves in the same situations.
But this is a new job, not your life's calling (most likely) and it will be for as long as it is necessary until you find something you like better, which could be extremely soon.
The mistake I made at my last job (I'm still unemployed) after seven years was I thought I was destined to work there for the rest of my life. I had all these horrible visions of how my life would unfold under the stress of that place.
This of course, made it worse, and actually kept me there longer than I needed to be. If could go back in time and do it all over again, I would refuse to become emotionally involved with the politics of the work place. If it is not your life's calling than it is serving it's purpose as a paycheck and possibly, to give you new insight into yourself.
You aren't trapped there. You can quit today if you want. You won't, but you COULD, which means, you are free. You are going there every day by choice.
Remember Steve's blog about being self-employed. You are your own boss. For the time being, you are providing your services to this company, in exchange for monetary compensation. They are your client. Your duty now is to stay strong while you learn everything you can from this experience and search for a new client.
Again, my best advice would be refuse to let your sense of self get caught up in something as small and insignificant as a job that will not last forever. There is more to you than that place. And if you accept the situation, it will most likely change in that spooky way that things change when we stop fighting them.
