I'm pretty new to blogging to be honest, and I don't read hardly any (except this one) for the same reasons that have been mentioned: no real content, and a bunch of chatter.
When I started my own publication I was concerned about proviiding good content and so I try to syndicate good articles from other people instead of trying to force myself to write more. I still do write a lot, but I don't consider myself a great writer, but I am honest.
I definitely wish there were more places that talked about real issues, not necessarily the same as Steve Pavlina, but on all topics. Articles where you can tell that people actually care about what they're writing about (good or not), that's what I like.
