A couple of months ago my friend asked me to be her birthing partner for when her baby would be born. I was delighted to accept and we have been preparing for that day together.
Well folks, that day is here. She went into labour this morning.
I'm so nervous and excited I can't tell you. It's such an honour to be present at someone's birth.
Right now she's trying to get some sleep between contractions as they are quite far apart at the moment. I'm going over in a couple of hours to support her.
Oh blimey, this is really real! I just hope I'm up to the job.
