the thing is DMOZ is like a lottery, and Ken says many times throughout his
ebooks and the forums that they are not worth waiting for if your site
is ready to monetize

in fact, when my site is ready in about a month, I will buy the Yahoo directory
submission for $299, and will not do anymore directory submissions

...only niche directories and hubs (niche blogs), the rest of my time will be spent
on creating traffic through other sources, meaning not 2nd tier directories, or
DMOZ (I have not heard from them either), and I consider its absurd that they
are ranked so high by Google (PR8), and they are free, I would rather pay money
to have them look at my site, instead of the way they are doing it now
