The problem with magazines is that the usually go out of print very fast. Steve's blog posts get probably also read years down the road and he also intends that his book will stay in print for a long time.

It's funny how people always think that Steve thinks about money the same way as they do themselves.
The ability to write for a magazine which a circulation while getting a deal that allows him to publish the same article online would be something that needs personal connections.
It isn't something where you just have the idea to do it and afterwards are able to do it but you need to know the right people
