The FACT that the Bible is riddled with quite valid nuggets of universal truth and wisdom does not prevent armies of holy rollin' preachers ad nauseum from exploiting it for power and profit.
Don't think that metaphysical philosophies and wisdom is any more immune from scam artists than any other belief system. It doesn't make the concepts any less true because SOME lesser-evolved POE's choose to exploit our interest in the subject for material gain. Truth is truth and BS is BS, and when one listens to his or her heart, one can usually tell the difference.
