I have a pretty good quality Everlast punching bag. At least theoretically it's good quality. I got it for Christmas about 10 years ago, but never used it when I was younger. I started using it regularly about three years ago, but all kinds of things keep wearing out or unscrewing. For instance, the clip that is the go between for the chains and the connector on the rafter has worn through four times. The bag also unscrews.
The bag turns as I punch it, and it slowly unscrews, dropping the bag to the ground.
I'm strong, but I'm not THAT strong.
I'm wondering if the support parts that hold up these bags are just faulty, or if mine is merely dated, or what....
Anyone have experience with bags? Do the metal parts wear out/unscrew?
I'm sick of this thing falling down.
Perhaps its worth investing in a new support, but the ones online at the Everlast store look exactly the same as the one I have.
The bag holder that attaches to the beam looks just like this:
Wood Beam Training Bag Holder from Everlast Boxing & Sportswear
The horizonatal bolt going through the bottom part is always wearing out, and the vertical screw attaching the two sections always comes unscrewed.
Ideas?
Thanks.
