For the list portion, I was referring to the left hand column in Action Outline, where the outline is, not the text entry part.. it looks like for any document, there can be only one primary item (the one first one automatically entered as root), and each item after that must be a sub-item of that.
It would be nice if it could have several primary roots at a time, like in a normal outline.
I emailed them, though not sure how often they update their versions.
