Talking To Animals (I must admit I haven't tried this myself)
Colors: Blue, brown
Elements: Air, Earth
Chakras: Belly, throat
Planets: Mercury, Earth, Moon
Entities: Some suitable ones would be Raphael; Saint Francis of Assisi, or just cats in general. My occult book recommends Hecate for cats but I'm a bit biased against Hecate.

"While holding your trigger, take a few deep breaths and focus your attention on the animal in question. Imagine a link of blue light connecting the two of you. The connecting line can be through the air or through the land beneath you. It is important not to think of the connection as too projective or threatening, but rather as a soft and steady connection to your animal.
Imagine this as your "phone" line, translating your communcations back and forth. Think your message in words or better yet, in pictres. Allow the response to come to you. It too might be in words or pictures. Animals, particularly wild ones, don't recognise the words we use, but our psyches are able to translate the messages in ways we all understands. I've had full-fledged conversations with insects as well as four-legged friends.
