By far the easiest way to deal with my family is that way. Just pay attention enough, without loosing your mind.
And, if you are running a book store (LUCKY YOU, being around books all day, every day!!!!) , you have other things to do as well.

And tell your husband to shape up. Its his family, they are not there to see you, but him (and posisbly kids).  |
I do give her the book and I tell her I have to place an order. I don't even "uh hu" her anymore (which usually works with my mum by the way) . I just ignore even when she asks something (since she ignores my asking for a moment to finish what I am doing).
I think I tried everything in the book except for "I NEED MY SPACE, could you please go for a walk and be back later?".
That's all I have left perhaps.
