You could set a rule that there would be 50% talking each side. And the rule that listening is important and that the other side determines whether you're listening. You can do that by rephrasing and saying what the other perosn is saying to confirm understanding. You can make these conditions for having the meeting in the first place. If you wanna be particularly cheeky, pick up a good book on communication and mail it to them.
