Hi there, I've been reading this thread with much interest..... last night my father realised that he can't find my mother's engagament ring which she had entrusted to him 9 days ago in the hospital just before she had a mastectomy. She is starting to feel better and has asked him for the ring and all he can remember is that he thinks (though is not 100% certain) that he put it in the pocket of his jacket. It is not there now and has not fallen into the lining through a hole. My father is in a real state about it and has not managed to tell my mother the truth as he doesn't want to upset her. If anyone gets a sense of where it could be we would be extremely grateful. It is a gold ring bought 32 years ago with a small diamond surrounded by small sapphires in a circular setting.
