If you want to manipulate people then you'll have no choice but to live up to the reality that you involve yourself with those who are vulnerable and impressionable to others whims being inflicted upon them.
It's negative and no real self esteem can be built upon the lack of such self worth of others. Deceitful people who use trickery do not think consciously as they are not in touch with reality.
