When you think about politics it's often helpful to try to take a step back from the stories and look beyond them instead of simply following the masses.
That means that you should focus on stories like
Exemption Exception « Don Vandergriff to create public pressure to make sure that change is really happening.
It's also important to build pressure to end the Iraq war and to create
a meaningful reform of congress.
Just because Obama gives a few nice speeches, that doesn't mean that you should stop demanding the right things.
There are also other people who think that the public stimulus package would be bad. I don't share that opinion but I can understand that those people are a bit reserved when it comes to Obama.

WELL....why aren't they? Why is it so filtered with celeb bs and other bs??.

For some reason some people choose to read media regularly that filled with celeberity bs.
I can't really understand it...
Today you really have no excuse to read that kind of media. If you read it, you are responsible for it.
Today you have technology like RSS with allows you to subscribe to the specific journalists that provide good reporting (and you can set the standards yourself).

It seems like you are really asking "Why isn't the media reporting the facts?"

Hey, maybe it was a fact that Michelle's dress was ugly?
