The Tao of Star Trek
Remember the Star Trek episode where the good Captain Kirk needed the evil Captain Kirk in order to become the whole Captain Kirk?
We need both negative and positive emotions in order for our lives to be in balance. Without balance, we tend to make either good Captain Kirk decisions or evil Captain Kirk decisions. Neither are in our overall best interest. Steve, you seem to have become a good Captain Kirk.
For example, if you were capable of greed, you might have made better decisions concerning the sale of your book. At a time when thousands of new viewers were checking out the new Hayhouse author, you were starving yourself on a juice fast (he's a nut) and now polyamory (and into kink). With a healthy dose of greed, you might have concentrated on topics to dazzle potential book buyers instead. I understand, truth, love and power above all else but when you are not in harmony with your evil Captain Kirk, how can you know what your truth, love and power is?
You can love a relationship to death. Without emotions like jealousy, resentment, anger and fear in the mix, your relationship will lack balance (and probably passion). Since your relationship seems to be so unbelievably loving, you probably need polyamory to bring things back into harmony. Most of us can accomplish the same thing by forgetting an anniversary or leaving the toilet seat up. In your next relationship, learn to be jealous.
Negative emotions are essential for complete self-cultivation. Use them to your advantage, don't eliminate them from your life.
