The last few days have been just an amazing experience and I could write for hours if I wanted but I will try to be as brief as possible in explaining. This week I was in Hawaii attending a trade show for work. I had convinced my CEO we needed to be there to kick off 2009 with some new business. I didn't have too many new opportunity meetings set up when I left but for the week or so before I just kept putting the intention out there that the show would be a success. I also wanted to have an opportunity to speak with my CEO, a man I admire, regarding what he felt was responsible for the succes he has had in his life. My concern was I wasn't really sure how to bring up the conversation with him without it being awkward. Shortly before leaving for the trade show I also found out I had a few big expenses popping up so I was really hoping for new business so my commissions would grow and I could pay for these expenses. I will tell you right now, after this last week my life is changed dramatically forever. It started almost as soon as I got off the plane in Hawaii, within about 20 min of arriving at the hotel where the conference was I met a few people I network with and had 2 NEW appointments set for the week, both turned into incredible meetings and tremendous opportunity. The next morning over breakfast in a very natural course of a conversation my CEO and I got on the subject of what he attributes his success to and I learned something amazing. After hearing it from different speakers, and books I finally heard from the mouth of someone I knew first hand as being very successful with nothing to sell me or gain by telling me that the biggest reason for his success was his mindset. He said he envisions himself being successful and always maintains a positive attitude and says that is the main reason he has been so successful. On top of that he also informed me that we had such a great 2008 as an organization he is going to do a profit sharing with the team and the amount he shared with me was a little more then I need to cover the expenses I just got hit with before I left. As I write this it almost sounds made up it is so perfect but I am not kidding, I truly visualized these things, wrote down intentions for them daily and it was almost as if what I wrote word for word started to manifest itself in my life. I have done this before to various degrees of success but this last week was almost overwhelming how it played out and has inspired me for the rest of my life on the power of intention.
