NIGHTDIAMOND:

One thing I was always curious about, and that is using this cd for meditation- if meditation involves pinpoint focusing, then I wondered if one could use this cd while meditating on something.

I hope this helps anyone that can use this...

WOLFGANG: what does it sound like to you? I bet it would work fine to meditate to, although there isn't any mention of that use on a web site I googled of the product. That this CD is not an entrainment type would mean the CD will not put you or entrain you into a brain wave frequency. But maybe dis-entraining incoherent fuzzy waves allows coherent meditative brain waves that you can find on your own.

Yes, sorry, it seems that right now, the Attention program only comes on CD.

I came up with that thought, when I considered how in meditation, it is said that the more a person concentrates on an object of focus, the more they are absorbed into their meditation. And presumably, the more likely to have a profound experience of some sort.

But I discovered this is also true with other practices, whether it be just a visualization exercise, self help exercises (NLP for example). I always noticed whenever I really concentrated when doing things like this, I had the most experiences afterwards (Lucid Dreams etc.)

It is said that being distracted is one of the biggest problems with practices like these.

Yes, the basic application was just to increase concentration, for people with Add, to bring theirs back to a "normal level", and for others, to improve it even more.

The instructions that came with my CD mentions it can be used for concentration during specific tasks - like studying, or other mental activites (perhaps physical too) that requires focus.

I went to the site to take a look, Wolfgang.. I like the idea of both products you found.

Good pick too, I see the potential in this one, because it gives a practical solution in the REAL WORLD. By that I mean, that usually during relaxation and meditation practices, when we are in a quiet place, we feel relaxed and joyful. We think, 'this is it!' This is the state, I've founnnd it!'.

Maybe a few days after we meditated, we still feel pretty calm, but then eventually comes the rush again, the people that push your buttons, the hectic thoughts again- and the stress returns, making us want to find a place to meditate or whatever again...

I think these types of products kind of help to solve that problem...

This looks pretty convenient, you can carry it in the palm of your hand, so you can take it with you and use it on the spot.

With products like this, it's more easier to get research and testing to back up the claims. Both of them seem to have testing and research to support their claims. "Stresseraser" was featured on the "View". They also have a few testimonials as well:

Quote:
The emWave® Personal Stress Reliever® is great. I have used it before every speech I have done since I got it. Some days are better than others but for the most part it has brought my anxiety level down and made me focus more on the subject than my feelings about the crowd. I gave one of them to my son who has difficulties with tests at school and he gets green before his tests. It has helped him to do better with the tests and from his teacher’s perspective he seems calmer when he takes them."

For Stresseraser:

VERY TREASURED BY THE GUYS AND GALS SERVING HERE IN IRAQ.

"This is a very highly stressful situation here. Crews are overworked, stressed out, shot at, and away from loved ones. Your stress erasers are very treasured by these guys and gals serving here in Iraq. I love to see the looks on their faces when they plug-in for the first time. It's perfect for our mission since Aircrews are not allowed to take medications and if we go to someone to talk about stress we risk losing our security access. The stress eraser allows us to erase the stress without either, and as a bonus feel like we are taking care of things without help from others."

A very good advantage would be to be able to enter the same exact state we were in when we meditated, except right in the middle of the stress causing situation.

This is what I specifically want- to take the results of those practices -whether it be calmness, bliss, etc. - and be able to recreate it and activate it automatically when I'm awake and alert in other situations during the day...

I think I might want one of these now, I'm getting curious about them..

As the days go by, can you let us know how effective this is in relieving stress, and keeping a pleasant mood ?
