Honeywith4bees is on a distinguished road
Default

I started plucking and shaving as a teenager. No one told me to do it, I just naturally assumed that it was the "correct" thing to do. After I got separated I decided to experiment with letting all the hair grow back. I gave it a two and a half year trial period to make sure that I gave my body a chance to experience every season a couple of times. When I met my now boyfriend, he had never been with a "hairy" woman before and I expected to scare him off when we were first intimate (I didn't!).

What I found for me, was that I didn't mind the hair under my arms or the stray hairs on my body (admittedly, I am not that hairy), but I just absolutely detested having hairy legs. I wouldn't wear shorts or skirts in the warm weather, wouldn't put on a bathing suit, etc. I decided that whether it is social conditioning or not, I gave it a try and now I needed to honor what feels best for me, without any excuses to others. ( I have MANY friends in my Yoga world that NEVER shave and think its sacrilege to the Divine Goddess to do so.)

Anyway, the other day I went to a Laser Hair removal clinic for a price on removing a small amount of hair from the back of both of my legs. About 25 hairs on each leg. She gave me an estimate of $800!!!! For me, that is a little out of reach, but it is permanent.
And everything that Angela said about dark hair/light skin, hot rubber bands snapping on your skin are accurate. The other thing she said is that it works best if your skin has not been exposed to ANY sun for a good period of time. You also have to make repeat visits.

Good luck Rose!
