Raw makes my ADHD WORSE???
Anyone?
I'm not a raw foodist in the strict sense - my dietary philosophy is more along the lines of "paleo", and I tend eat about 50% raw food. For a few days, I ate exclusively raw.
During that time, I was practically manic. My mental activity stepped up about 90%, to the point of it virtually feeling like my head was going to explode!! My adhd was WORSE. No brain fog (which comes I'm certain from gluten) but I couldn't form a single coherent sentence because of all the thoughts flying in and out of my head.
Yet strangely when I eat "heavier" foods I am more "grounded". I seemed to have had the most control over my ADHD while on Atkins.
Wondering if anyone else has had this experience.
[It might be explained in macrobiotic terms; ADHD would likely be a very "yin" condition and for those few days I was eating a diet that would be described as "yin".]
