I made a misjudgment and then became emotionally attached to that misjudgment. Thankfully I am now free from my illusion. And although it hurt at the time, in hindsight I feel thankful that I escaped an obvious mismatch. It is refreshing (and humbling) to know that I can be completely wrong about things, as I was getting a bit too comfortable in my convictions.
